Ladybug Day is coming! A day in November is more special than you thought. It’s in the date: 10/11/12. A 58-second listen on YouTube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xr8vUTm64h0 will show you how this became Ladybug Day, and will make you a Sesame Street and Ladybug fan for life!!

After this, be patient, because there isn’t another until next century (1/2/3)!

We’ve established a contest: Celebrate ladybugs in a drawing, a painting, a poem, an essay or a story. You can create your own Ladybug song, have a picnic, or just bug a special friend. Have fun, be creative and clever, and maybe you’ll be one of our winners!

Prizes: We’re offering the date in dollars ($1, 011.12) to be divided among the best 10+11+12 entries. We won’t make you rich, but you can always brag about how you won the Ladybug contest!

It’s kind of like a secret that you can’t help sharing. Maybe you can sing them a chorus or two to create the ladybug mood. A little math, a little smile, a little fun—that’s Ladybug Day!
